CGS0060

London: W Kent, 1861. In original silver filigree case with clasp, made up of mid Victorian style leaf sprays and scrolls, hinged with vertical silver spine. The miniature almanac in original gold marbled stiff boards.

DESCRIPTION: Further Notes:
Bondy, in ‘Miniature Books’ page 44 describes Tilt’s miniature almanacs as valued highly by collectors, in similar content style to the London almanacs. He mentions several binding styles but not this one, which is obviously rare, though such work was often produced at the time by the Portuguese silversmith's of London for a luxury market.

SIZE: Approx: 35 x 65 mm

CONDITION: The case in fine condition, lacking the original spine which was possibly discarded for insertion in the case, now loosely held, this also in fine state, interleaves with blanks as issued, unused.
This is a particularly nice undamaged example, the almanac itself likewise in excellent state.
