DESCRIPTION: London, Rivington [and many others], circa 1800, 1809, 1814. 6 volumes comprising two volumes each of each work, large octavo, each volume with an engraved title page with vignette illustration, frontispiece to Elegant Epistles.

Finely bound by A van Rossum of Amsterdam with his binder's ticket, in full tree calf, sides with twist gilt borders, sines gilt panelled with central oval decoration and red/green lettering/ numbering pieces, marbled endpapers, Various early editions of the large format version of these educational anthologies compiled in the late 18th century by Vicesimus Knox, reflecting the taste of the time times within the rather strict school environment.

This beautiful set, bound in Amsterdam, shows Regency period binding at its finest, and in excellent state of preservation.
