The Holy Bible in Miniature intended to instruct the youthful mind in religion and Christianity, London R Pratt, 12 Broad Street, 1815

DESCRIPTION: 144pp including the title page engraved, 7 engraved plates (as required) bound in original green morocco, sides and spine gilt decorated with 'JHS' red onlay on the centre of each board, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt.

An exceptionally rare thumb bible although two copies for comparison in the Adomeit collection university of Virginia suggest a date of circa 1815, one copy being dated 1816.
Worldcat also lists copies at Indiana and Washington but no copies in the UK.

SIZE: 68 x 47mm

CONDITION: Light foxing to the engraved title page off set on to the front blank. Minor offsetting from plates and light rubbing at joints otherwise a near fine copy exceptionally bright and clean.
