DESCRIPTION: Octavo, Pagination; vii,[1], 524, [2], eratta, half title present with 1787 portrait of Boswell from the European Magazine bound in as frontispiece, finely bound in modern straight grained red morocco, spine richly gilt with raised bands, sides with ornate richly wide gilt borders with scallop shell design and scallop shell inner corners, top edge gilt and other edges untrimmed, marbled endpapers presented in morocco lined cloth slipcase. SIZE: 233 x 144mm CONDITION: The inscribed leaf at the front is foxed, the portrait is offset on to the title page and there is a small minor paperstain to two leaves, else a fine large copy in a superb modern binding of the best quality replicating the 18th century stlye. £2500.00 Have a Question?You need to be Signed In to ask questions. |
