DESCRIPTION: William Cobbett Jr was the eldest son of William Cobbett who died in 1835. After Cobbett's death his London printer and publisher Jesse Oldfield sued the Cobbett family for moneys owed for printing and distribution and when unpaid by the family William as the eldest brother was put in debtors prison in White Cross Street.
