DESCRIPTION: 8vo, wood-engraved vignette title pages, finely bound for Macmillan & Bowes of Cambridge in contemporary half olive polished crushed morocco, spines with raised bands, edges gilt, marbled endpapers, Eleventh Impression.

First published complete in 1870, and dedicated to his wife Jane, a poem of epic proportions. A very attractive set bound for the eminent Cambridge booksellers Macmillan and Bowes, later Bowes and Bowes, by an unspecified but presumably Cambridge bookbinder of considerable skill.

SIZE: Set: 190 x 155 mm

CONDITION: spines evenly faded to light brown, else a fine set throughout
