DESCRIPTION: Hoyle's Games Improved Being Practical Treatises on the Following Fashionable Games, Viz. Whist, Quadrille, Piquet, Back-Gammom, Chess, Billiards and Tennis with The Established Rules of Each Game by James Beaufort Esq. of Cavendish Square. London, Printed for S Bladon, 1775. 12mo, pp[2],iv[6],208.

Neatly bound in twentieth century half calf, marbled sides, spine gilt ruled with raised bands and red label, date at foot of spine. Page numbers for each game neatly written on the title page in an early hand.

Scarce version of Hoyle in shorter form which went through three editions. COPAC records 3 copies only.

SIZE: 157 x 95mm

CONDITION: Light browning to title page which is slightly spotted but overall a good copy, well presented and clean.
